After India’s crucial ODI series match against England, Hardik Pandya did nothing wrong at the Old Trafford Cricket Stadium in Manchester. After Rohit Sharma was allowed to take the field by winning the toss, the 28-year-old showed his best performance in this format at 7-3-24-4 and helped his team to a 259 for 45.5 ounces victory over England. At the end of the game, along with Rishabh Pant (125* off 113 balls), he revived India with a 72/4, scoring 71 in just 55 balls with 10 foursomes. After that, Pant’s brave reverse strike brought them home with five wickets and 77.5 wickets to spare.
Hardik Pandya was recognized as the ODI series player for 100 runs, six wickets in three matches. Soon after, former spinner Danish Kaneria praised the star Indian all-rounder for scooping when it mattered.
“India bowled well with the new ball in the absence of Bumrah, but it was Hardik Pandya’s day. India always wanted an all-rounder like this for a long, long time. They have always had a spin all-rounder, but India needed someone who could support the pace unit and batting,” Kaneria said on his Youtube channel.
“Hardik Pandya is the No. 1 all-rounder in the world. He played a very important role in (Rishabh) Pant’s innings. He kept talking to him throughout their partnership and gave him confidence. This is one of the best knocks in Pant’s career so far. There is no doubt about it.”
Hardick will be involved in the upcoming five-game showdown T-20I against the West Indies.
