The United States and Pakistan are among the 17 member countries that have individually or jointly shown their concern in hosting ICC tournaments in the 2024-2031 FTP.

Other countries to submit “preliminary proposals” to the International Cricket Council were Bangladesh, England, India, Australia, Ireland, Namibia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Oman, Scotland, South Africa, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and the United Arab Emirates.

ICC 2023 can be held in the USA or Pakistan.

Following the 2023 FIFA World Cup, to be held in India, there will be eight world tournaments in an eight-year cycle. The competition includes two men’s cricket world championships, four men’s T20 World Cup stages, and two champions’ trophies. The International Cricket Council said the hosts of the World Test Championships and the U19 Women’s and Junior U19 Finals in the new cycle will be determined in a “separate process”. This is scheduled to be held later this year.

In September, 17 countries will submit a more detailed proposal and the International Cricket Council Board will finally decide at the proper time.

“We are delighted with the response from our Members to hosting ICC men’s white-ball events post 2023. This process gives us an opportunity to extend our range of hosts and grow interest in cricket worldwide, reaching more fans whilst creating a long-term legacy for the sport,” – said Geoff Allardice, an ICC former cricketer.

“Cricket has more than a billion fans around the world and ICC events have a proven track record of bringing significant economic and social benefits for host countries. These events provide hosts with a wonderful opportunity to work closely with local communities to grow the game whilst supporting economic and social development public policy goals.”

The Pakistani Cricket Council has already confirmed that it is interested to host six International Cricket Council events in the next cycle, and they hope to host “at least one event”. The Bangladesh Cricket Council aims to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, whereas the BCCI is planning to host three events, although it does not guarantee to grant tax exemptions.
