About ECN Czech Super Series
The tournament was a brainchild of both cricketing boards with an aim to kickstart cricket after a Covid-induced hiatus. The cricket tournament started with 4 participating teams which has now increased to 8. A total of 60 matches are scheduled to take place in the 2023 season of ECS Czechia.

Structure of Czech Super Series
When it comes to how it operates, the Czech Super Series has a distinct structure of its own. The event’s framework is broken out below:
- All eight teams play against each other twice
- Hence, every team will play a minimum of 14 games in the league stage
- The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals
- The second semi-final is played between the first and the fourth-placed team while the first semi-final is played between the second and third-placed teams
- The winners of the two semi-finals will head to the finals while the losers will contest a third-place playoff match
Czech Super Series Points System
The teams are arranged based on the total points. Points are awarded as follows:
- Win: 2 points
- Loss: 0 points
- No Result/Abandonment: 1 point.
History of Czech Super Series
When the Covid-19 pandemic stopped cricketing action all around the globe, there was one country that did not get affected by the virus and that’s Czechia or Czech Republic. Although it’s weird to think about cricket taking place in the Czech Republic, they do have history. They have a national cricket team as well at the moment ranking 51st in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings. The tournament launched 16 teams initially in 2020 and arranged a competition on the T10 league format. The organisers ensured the safety of all the players and speaking of the participants, the Czech Super Series managed to corral some of the biggest names of Czechia’s national team and many A-list international players. The Czech Super Series consists of four different tournaments featuring four teams each. The winners of those groups make it to the final four.
The tournament has now successfully completed three seasons and is currently entering the fourth.
Bohemian CC won the inaugural season of the ECN Czech Super Series. However, Prague CC went on to win the next two seasons and is undoubtedly the most successful team in the tournament. They have made it to the finals in each of the previous three seasons.

Czech Super Series Teams
There are 8 teams overall in the 2023 season of the Czech Super Series. You may read about them below to get more knowledge about the competitors and decide who to bet on.
Prague CC
Prague CC is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the Czech Republic. The club was founded in 1997 after a group from Commonwealth countries joined together. The side, captained by Arun Ashokan currently has participated in each and every season of the Czech Super Series. They have won the competition twice and are the reigning champions.
Bohemian CC
The winners of the inaugural season of the Czech Super Series, Bohemian CC came second last season as they lost to Prague CC Kings in the finals by 28 runs. After Prague CC Kings, Bohemian CC captained by Sahil Grover is one of the most successful sides in the competition.
United CC
The United CC currently captained by wicket-keeper batsman Abhimanyu Singh, participated in each and every season of the Czech Super Series till date. They did not qualify for the knockouts in the first two seasons but bagged the bronze medal last season, beating Prague Spartans by 6 wickets in the third-place playoff match.
Brno
Brno did not feature in the inaugural season of the Czech Super Series. They featured in the 2021 season as two teams – Brno Raiders and Brno Rangers but merged to become one in the following season. Brno’s journey ended in the quarter-finals last season where they suffered a 8-wicket defeat at the hands of Prague Spartans.
Plzen Guardians
The Plzen Guardians did not feature in the initial two seasons of the Czech Super Series. They made their Czech Super Series debut in the 2022 season. However, they failed to make it to the knockouts, finishing at the bottom of Group A with only a single win in eight outings.
Prague Spartans
The Prague Spartans, captained by Kranthi Venkataswamy made their Czech Super Series debut in the 2022 season. The side secured the top spot in Group B, courtesy of six wins in eight games. They finished fourth last season, losing to United CC in the Bronze Final match.
Prague Tigers
The Prague Tigers, captained by Al Mahmud made their Czech Super Series debut in the 2022 season. They came second in their group with five wins and three defeats in eight games. They were eliminated by United CC in the quarter-finals.
Prague Barbarians
The Prague Barbarians, captained by Vamshi Madishetty have featured in each and every season of the Czech Super Series. They came third in their group last season, picking up four wins and losing as many games. They were eliminated by Bohemian CC in the quarter-finals last season and will make an appearance in the 2023 season as well.
Vinohrady CC
The Vinohrady CC, captained by Adnan Mohd currently, made their Czech Super Series debut in the 2021 season. Since then, they have featured in each and every season and came fourth last season in their group, picking up four wins and as many defeats.
Moravian
The Moravian, captained by Om Sharma made their Czech Super Series debut in the 2022 season. They finished at the bottom of their group last season, picking up only a single win in eight outings. They will not play in the 2023 season of the competition.
