About Pakistan Cup
Initially known as the Pentangular One Day Cup during the seasons of 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2014-15, the competition underwent a transformation in 2016. It was rebranded as the Pakistan Cup and introduced a novel draft system to form squads for the five provincial teams. In the recent 2022/23 season, Central Punjab emerged as the triumphant team, clinching the coveted trophy. In an exhilarating final, Central Punjab showcased its talent by defeating Balochistan with a commanding 50-run margin, securing the title victory of the Pakistan Cup. This prestigious tournament serves as a breeding ground for talent and provides an exciting platform for cricket enthusiasts to witness intense battles between the finest domestic players in the country.

Structure of Pakistan Cup
Each team plays one another (twice since 2019–20) in a round-robin group stage. Historically, the top two teams in the league play a final. Since 2019–20, the top four teams have contested in a semi-final followed by a final.
History of Pakistan Cup
In 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board undertook a national restructuring of domestic cricket, leading to the Pakistan Cup being contested by six regional teams. However, the inaugural edition of this new structure, scheduled for 2019-20, could not take place due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before this restructuring, the premier List A domestic tournament in Pakistan was the National One-Day Cup, which involved participation from associations, departments, or a combination of both. Over time, various teams were part of the National One-Day Cup but underwent changes or dissolution. For instance, teams like Balochistan Bears (later Balochistan Warriors), Federal Leopards (later Federal United), North-West Frontier Province Panthers (later Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fighters), Punjab Stallions (later Punjab Badshahs), and Sind Dolphins (later Sind Knights) were among those teams that went through rebranding or disbandment.
