The tournament is organised by Qatar Cricket Association and the league has been approved by the International Cricket Council(ICC). Former Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi signed as the ambassador of the Qatar T10 league.

Qatar T10 League Structure
When it comes to how it operates, the Qatar T10 League has a distinct structure of its own. The event’s framework is broken out below, and it also applies to the Qatar T10 League 2023:
- The competition is played in a round-robin format;
- Each team plays five league-stage matches;
- The top 4 teams in the points table will qualify for the semi-finals;
- The first semi-final is played between the first and the fourth-placed team while the second semi-final is played between the second and third-placed teams;
- The winners of the two semi-finals will head to the finals while the losers will contest for a third-place playoff match.
Qatar T10 League Team Formation Rules
Each team will consist of 15 players(1 ICON + 3 Overseas players + 3 players from Associate Nations + 8 Qatar resident players)
A total of 72 domestic Qatar players were registered for the players draft from which only 48 were drafted in 6 teams
Qatar T10 League Points System
The teams are arranged based on the total points. Points are awarded as follows:
- Win: 2 points
- Loss: 0 points
- No Result/Abandonment: 1 point.
Qatar T10 League History
The inaugural season of the Qatar T10 League took place from 7 December 2019 to 16 December 2019. The tournament was organised by the Qatar Cricket Association in association with the International Pro Event. The league had six teams consisting of 24 international stars, 12 players from associate ICC countries, Qatar national cricket team players and other local cricketers. South African cricketer Hashim Amla, Pakistani player Mohammad Hafeez, and West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher were amongst the international stars taking part in the tournament. All 16 games were played at the Asian Town International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

Swift Gallopers
The Swift Gallopers, captained by Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal secured the top spot in the league table, picking up four wins in five games. The side picked up 8 points and a healthy net run rate of about +2.715. Their semi-final match against Flying Oryx was abandoned and they qualified for the finals on the basis of their position in the table. However, they suffered a 4-wicket defeat with a ball to spare at the hands of second-placed Falcon Hunters. Falcon Hunters
The Falcon Hunters, captained by Qatari player Iqbal Hussain secured the second position in the league table, picking up four wins in five games. The side picked up 8 points and a healthy net run rate of about +2.359. Their semi-final match against Desert Riders was abandoned and they qualified for the finals on the basis of their position in the table. They eventually won the competition by beating the Swift Gallopers in the final by 4 wickets. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Butt emerged as the top two run-scorers in the competition, scoring 138 and 137 runs respectively. Skipper Iqbal Hussain picked up the maximum number of wickets for his side(7).
Desert Riders
The Desert Riders, captained by Pakistani player Mohammad Hafeez secured the third position in the league table, picking up three wins in five games. The side picked up 7 points and a healthy net run rate of about +0.344. They were quite unfortunate as their scheduled semi-final encounter against Falcon Hunters was abandoned and they couldn’t make it to the finals. Muhammad Tanveer scored the most runs for Desert Riders(106). Pakistani bowler Sohail Tanvir picked up 5 wickets for his side.
Flying Oryx
The Flying Oryx, captained by Pakistani player Hussain Talat secured the fourth position in the league table, courtesy of three defeats and only a single win in five games. The side picked up only 3 points with an abysmal net run rate of -2.071. Although they qualified for the semi-finals, that match was abandoned. Hussain Talat emerged as the top run-getter for Flying Oryx that season, scoring 82 runs at 27.33. Naved Malik picked up 5 wickets(the most from his side).
Pearl Gladiators
Similar to the Flying Oryx, the Pearl Gladiators, captained by Pakistani player Mohammad Sami secured the fifth position in the league table, courtesy of three defeats and only a single win in five games. The side picked up only 3 points with an abysmal net run rate of -2.413. They went level with the Flying Oryx on points but failed to qualify for the semi-finals as they had an inferior net run rate in comparison to the Flying Oryx. Mehran Khan emerged as the top run-scorer for the Pearl Gladiators, scoring 53 runs. Philip Joseph picked up 4 wickets for his side.
Heat Stormers
The Flying Oryx, captained by Manpreet Gony finished at the bottom of the table last season, picking up no wins in five games. The side picked up only a point. All-rounder Sikander Raza from Zimbabwe scored 91 runs for his side at 45.50 in three games. Batin Shah, Owais Ahmed, Sikander Raza, Satvir Singh and Gayan Munaweera each picked up 3 wickets each last season.
