Structure of Stockholm T10 League
The ECS Sweden, Stockholm T10 League follows a standard round robin format, ensuring that every team competes against all the others in the tournament. During the group stage, a total of 54 matches are played, with each team facing all the opponents once. The top four teams from this stage advance to the semi-finals, which determine the contenders for the playoffs. The two teams that don’t progress to the finals have a deciding match to determine the third-place finisher. Finally, the two qualifying teams compete in the much-anticipated final showdown to determine the champion of the league.
History of Stockholm T10 League
Established in 1990, the Swedish Cricket Federation serves as the governing body for cricket in Sweden and holds associate membership with the International Cricket Council. Over the years, the sport has experienced remarkable growth. In 1998, there were around 500 registered cricket players in the country, but by 2016, the number had surged to an estimated 3,000 players and 55 teams, largely attributed to an influx of immigrants from cricket-loving nations like Afghanistan. The game’s social aspect has been praised for its role in integrating new arrivals into the community.
In 2015, the Swedish Cricket Federation became a part of the Swedish Sports Confederation, further solidifying its presence within the country’s sports landscape. Despite its rising popularity, cricket in Sweden still lags behind its neighbour Norway in terms of overall appeal.
Taking the initiative to capitalise on the sport’s growth, the Swedish Cricket Federation launched its own domestic T10 league when the format gained popularity in other countries. Previously, a few Swedish clubs participated in the European Cricket League, a T10 league featuring top cricket clubs from across Europe. The inaugural season of the Swedish T10 league took place in 2020, with Pakistanska Forening emerging as the victorious team that season.

Stockholm T10 League Teams
Alby Zalmi CC
Alby Zalmi CC has proven to be the dominant force in the tournament, securing two championship titles in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In the most recent 2023 season, they displayed exceptional performance by reaching the semi-finals. Their commanding performance during the group stage was evident as they emerged at the top, winning an impressive nine out of ten matches they contested, accumulating a total of 18 points.
Huddinge
Huddinge has showcased commendable performance right from the start of the tournament. In the 2021 season, they finished as runners-up, narrowly losing to Alby Zalmi CC in the final. However, in a stunning turn of events during the 2023 season, they sought redemption and claimed the championship title by defeating Alby Zalmi CC in the final match and currently stand as the reigning champions.
Marsta CC
Marsta CC has performed admirably in the tournament but has yet to reach the final. In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, they secured the top spot in Group B with five and seven wins, respectively. Although they made it to the semi-finals once again in the 2023 season, they faced defeat against Huddinge, resulting in a third-place finish overall.
Kristianstad CC
Kristianstad CC made its debut in the tournament in the 2023 season and already made an impression by qualifying for the semi-finals. However, they lost to Alby Zalmi CC and had to settle for fourth place in the overall standings.
Stockholm CC
Stockholm CC has participated in all three editions of the tournament but has encountered limited success. Regrettably, they have never managed to qualify for the playoffs. Their best performance came in the 2021 season when they came close to the playoffs but fell short by just one win compared to Botkyrka.
Jinnah CC
They are new entrants into the tournament and finished sixth in the standings overall.
Kista Cricket Club
They also made their debut in the 2023 season and finished seventh on the table with four wins to their credit.
Stockholm Tigers
Making their debut in the 2022 season, they narrowly missed out on the playoffs by just one win. However, their fortunes took a dip in the 2023 season as they finished in the eighth position overall.
Hammarby
They made their debut in 2022 and made it to the semi-finals in their inaugural season, but they, unfortunately, did not progress beyond that. In 2023, they finished ninth.
Seaside CC
They started their journey in the tournament in the latest 2023 season and finished in the penultimate position.
Sikif
Sikif entered the tournament for the first time in the 2023 season. Despite finishing level on points with Seaside CC, they were relegated to the last place due to a lower net run rate.
